Background

Oaktree Impact is closely affiliated with Transformational Business Network (TBN), a global network of purpose-driven investors and entrepreneurs who take an enterprise approach to alleviate poverty in low-income and underserved communities. Oaktree Impact complements the work of TBN Asia by providing project advisory services in the areas of investments and investee supervision to impact clients.

Members of the Oaktree Impact team incubated Garden Impact Investments (GII), an Asia-focused impact fund in 2013 (modelled after several successful social impact funds in Africa like Novastar Ventures and Inqo Investments). Oaktree Impact successfully scaled the fund’s reputation, track record, and social impact in Southeast Asia. Services provided to GII includes sector research, pre-investment due diligence, social impact analysis, post-investment monitoring and control, and portfolio management.
